Task

Engineering and Construction Management:

Within this project the existing process control system “Honeywell TDC2000/3000” was migrated to the new “Honeywell Experion PKS”. Due to the large scale and the objective to cause minimal effect on the running system operation, the migration was done in several steps (by operating area).

In the course of this retrofit, the following tasks were performed during running operations:

Planning, testing and installation as well as commissioning of new servers
Planning, installation/rerouting of field signals to the new PRC level of the PCS
Construction of new operating areas in the course of the optimization of the operator concept incl. retrofit of the control room
Planning/construction and commissioning of parallel operations of the safety control

Challenges

Implementation during running operations in the refinery with minimal effect on the running system operation.

Project Result

On-time completion without any interference to running operations and in line with the budgeted cost.

Replacement and retrofitting of the hot oil system at “Raffinerie Nord”

New construction of two hot oil heaters and retrofitting of an existing one acc. to EN 746-2

Execution of the project
Migration of PCS (Honeywell TDC2000 to Experion) for the complete utility area without interruption of running operation

Challenges

Implementation according to Shell Governance processes with very high quality requirements. Within this project a partial benchmarking was done with IPA.

Modernization Power Plant Reuter West in Berlin

Modernization / Revamp of the Power Plant (combined cycle power plant with 2 units of 300 MW each). Migration from Siemens Teleperm XP to Foxboro l/A and Triconex incl. upgarde of the field technology and modernization of the turbine control with Triconex lnvensys Foxguard

Task

Overall project management incl. Engineering Lead for E&I and Construction Management.

Challenges

This project was the first that was done with Comos (function planning with backwards dynamization and E&I engineering).

On-time completion and optimization in line with the budgeted cost.
