Construction of a Plant for Recombinant Coagulation Factors for CSL Behring Lengnau AG


This new plant permits the production of these new therapeutics in commercial quantities and the in order to supply international markets. Recombinant therapeutics are produced in gene-modified cell cultures where the original cells are altered (reprogrammed) in order to produce the desired proteins. These proteins are then harvested and used as therapeutics. This new process using recombinant expression technology offers a better protection against possible viral transmissions.

For the production a new plant is built in Lengnau (CH). The investment volume amounts to more than EUR 1bn.

Task

Responsible for construction & commissioning of process piping incl. handover for IQ (R&I Walkdown, Documentation review, Mechanical Completion)
